The Legacy of 9/11: A Call to Serve

Join us for The Legacy of 9/11: A Call to Serve, featuring special guest Colonel (Ret.) Mark W. Tillman, the 12th Presidential Pilot and Commander of Air Force One from 2001 to 2009.

During his distinguished service, Colonel Tillman flew President George W. Bush on nearly every domestic and international mission, leading with an uncompromising commitment to safety, precision, and excellence.

As the pilot of Air Force One during some of the most significant moments in modern American history, Colonel Tillman was at the controls during:

  • September 11, 2001: Safely transporting President Bush from Florida amid unprecedented uncertainty, rapidly evolving threats, and critical national security concerns.
  • The first presidential visit to a war zone: Executing the highly classified mission that brought President Bush to Iraq for a Thanksgiving visit with U.S. troops, requiring extraordinary secrecy and flawless coordination.
  • Numerous high-risk diplomatic and military operations: Supporting presidential travel into combat zones and other sensitive environments where mission success depended on meticulous planning and execution.

Through firsthand stories and leadership lessons from the cockpit of Air Force One, Colonel Tillman will reflect on the events of 9/11, the spirit of service, and the enduring importance of leadership under pressure. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to hear from a leader who witnessed history firsthand and answered the call to serve during some of our nation’s most defining moments.
